Day two (getting settled...)

Day three started well enough, a relaxing nights sleep gave a new brightness to the city. The weather was a bit gloomy but otherwise excellent. We took a bus tour and I got a SIM card for my phone, still don’t have the data working though (ugh). I still need to get a tripod to set up shots correctly, that’s the only item left on my list though! We found some cute places and got a taste for the city by exploring with (during the bus tour) and without a guide. The Tube is great and travel through the city is surprisingly easy. There are so many different people from all around the world in London, well at least from all around Europe. I heard so many different accents and languages. We found the apple store, oh and subway for lunch (knew you’d like that Carly). That’s another thing, there are more KFC’s and Starbucks in London than I have ever seen in my life! Its currently 3:21am here on day four and I really need to go to bed, staying up so long yesterday kind of programmed me for that I guess. I’m really glad I have mild plans tomorrow (the British Museum is the only major plan!). I already miss my friends and I wish you guys were all out here, it would be SOOOOOO much fun. Oh well, guess I’ll have to get out there and meet those Londoners…

  1. Hi Gus - Really enjoy your slide show -- it gives the flavor of London. Can you post some pictures of your apartment, too? Hope you're getting acclimated to all things British. Has the G20 affected your traveling around? I understand there are many protesters. Obama seems to be following Cal Poly travels - first in Pomona, now in London. Have your classes started already? Let me know. Love you and miss you. Mom

  2. hey, you should find some time while your there to check out the white cliffs at Dover. I've always wanted to go there, but never got around to it. Also, definitely try and find your way up north in the yorkshire dales. Most specifically there are some caves up there, and a tour that goes through them that is amazing (glow in the dark stalagtites). Just some thoughts and most of all ENJOY ENGLAND!

  4. Dude, you got a GRIP of doubles on your flikr, just thought i'de let you know. BTW thought of more places to visit, if you have time. Check out Churchill's hideaway under the Treasury in Westminister. Also, if they still do it, you gotta take the tour of Westminister abbey that takes you up on the roof. Well worth it.
